PINK
@
The
Newmarket
Hotel
Between
2003 and 2007, the Newmarket Hotel played host to weekly drag shows, from
Melbourne troupes such as the Showbags, The
Manly Sisters, Jack &
Jill and later Drags Aloud. The night was known as PINK@Newmarket
Hotel.
Originally
aimed at a gay cliental, in its later year the shows became popular with Hens
parties and birthday groups, work functions, and other large group
bookings.
This
was mostly due to the large production shows that the venue was hosting, such as
The Sound of Music Drag Show and Grease The Drag Show.
Popular
performers such as Amanda Monroe, Jessica James, Linda Lamont, Miss Bunny, Roxy
Bullwinkle, Jillette
Jones, Kris del Vayze, Amy Jane Roberts, Girl DJ, Char D'Nay, Alexis,
Electra Jones, Christina Andrews, and
Jackie
Stevens all called pink home for a period.
With
a
history

entertainment.
The
